New lights shine on Citizen's latest technology in UK headquarter showroom - Citizen Machinery

Citizen Machinery has replaced its showroom lighting with the latest Waldmann Lighting Acaneo Highbay Luminaire LED system that not only provides glare-free lighting across the whole working area but also has enabled the previous nine 400 watt units to be replaced with energy saving 160 watt LEDs. In addition, the new system will reduce maintenance costs with an LED life of 60,000 hours as against the previous mercury based system which involved annual replacement.

Said Managing Director Geoff Bryant: “Waldmann is based about a mile from our offices in Bushey and is already a supplier to Citizen for its machine lighting. The company had taken a stand at MACH 2016 at the NEC in April when I recognised the name as I walked past. This coincided with our plans to upgrade our air conditioning and lighting at our headquarters and led to quotations and order placement very soon after the show.”

The Highbay units are flush fitted to the 8 m high ceiling of the showroom and as Waldmann’s Managing Director Peter Young said: “The massive advantage of the Acaneo system is that once installed you never really notice it. It is bright, but with the patented lens arrangement it is virtually free from shadow and glare.”

To this Citizen’s Sales Director Darren Wilkins added: “This is ideal in a working environment such as when machines are being set however, we have already noticed how customers seem more relaxed and are more easily able to focus on what is being demonstrated and discussed.”

Further advantages of the system are that if power is interrupted or switched–off the system instantly returns to the normal lighting output. Payback is predicted to be achieved in around two years due to lower consumption and the considerable reduction in service demands.
