In 2016 a spark of ingenuity led to the launch of Citizen’s LFV (Low Frequency Vibration) the programmable chip control technology quickly became the No.1 advanced CNC turning solution for revolutionising productivity. Paving the way for total automation and a fully-functional lights out manufacturing operation.
How does it do it?
The slide axis oscillation synchronizes directly with spindle rotation. This precise vibration breaks swarf into short, manageable chips, no more tangled material. As a result, you can run for longer periods with less cleaning and maintenance, boosting overall efficiency.
Consisting of three modes: Large depth of cut machining, Small depth of cut machining and Screw cutting. This allows for operations such as turning, grooving, parting off, drilling and threading, helping you achieve more!

NEW4-Axis LFV – Enhanced Chip Control and Reduced Cycle Times
Citizen’s latest generation of machines introduces 4-axis Low Frequency Vibration (LFV) technology, taking chip control and machining efficiency to the next level. For the first time, LFV can now operate simultaneously on X and Z axes of both the main and sub spindles, enabling smoother, more stable cutting across multiple operations.
In addition to improved chip evacuation and reduced tool wear, one of the key advantages of 4-axis LFV is a reduction in overall cycle time. There’s no longer a need to delay operations or insert dwell times while waiting for LFV-supported axes to become available. This allows for continuous, uninterrupted machining, improving productivity without compromising surface quality or process stability.
