Citizen Group Statement on Responsible Minerals Procurement

The Citizen Group recognises that procuring 3TG (Tin, Tantalum, Tungsten & Gold) minerals from conflict-affected and high-risk areas (CAHRAs) including the Democratic Republic of Congo and neighbouring countries, is a serious international concern, as such minerals might fund armed groups and contribute towards conflict, human rights abuses and environmental destruction. Accordingly, we support the principles of the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas and implement initiatives aligned with its framework.

In line with this guidance, we disclose the percentage of smelters that are certified Conflict-Free Smelters (CFSs) for each mineral and take corrective actions where necessary from human rights risk perspective. Through these efforts, the CITIZEN Group is working collectively to eliminate conflict minerals from its supply chain.
